Tips for Best Performance

Your CZ Infrared™ Heater will save you a whole lot of money, and it's easy to operate and maintain. Operating at maximum performance, your CZ Infrared™ Heater can save you even more cash.

Here are some easy to follow recommendations to get the most out of your infrared heater (and put more money back in your pocket!):

  • Locate the infrared heater in an area with a room with low airflow. The infrared heat will be better contained in a room that does not have a high air exchange rate.
  • Place the infrared heater near a warmer inside wall and direct the output toward a cooler outside wall. The cooler outside wall will tend to draw the generated heat towards it, which will allow for more efficient heating throughout the room.
  • Placing the infrared heater next to a cold air return will draw the heat away from the area to be heated. Try closing or covering the cold air return. This will allow for more efficient heating. Experiment with the placement of the heater to see what works best for you.
  • To ensure maximum efficiency, a 30% minimum relative humidity should be maintained in the heated environment. This is usually not a concern.
  • The infrared heater is designed to operate for maximum efficiency in the 68-74 degree Fahrenheit range. Due to the soft heat concept , a temperature of 68 degrees Fahrenheit feels as though it were 72 degrees Fahrenheit. This is due to the infrared heat mixing with humidity evenly for head-to-toe comfort.
  • When the infrared heater is placed in an isolated area, i.e. basement or recreation area, any existing HVAC heating system vents should be closed in that area, if possible. This allows the heater to maintain the isolated area more efficiently.
  • When heating a room with bare concrete, place the infrared heater a few feet above the floor (make sure the heater is secure and won't fall!). This will allow for more efficient heating since concrete acts as a heat sink and will tend to draw the heat out of the room.
  • If possible, concrete floors should be covered to provide some insulation factor from the concrete.
  • Set your central heating system to a lower temperature. Place the infrared heater in the area you spend the most of your time. Now set the heater to your comfort level. There is no point in heating multiple rooms to 68+ degrees Fahrenheit when not in use.
  • When heating larger areas, place the heater in a central location. The nature of the thermal infrared heat wave is to constantly reach out for more objects to warm.
  • If the heater is used in a dirty or dusty area, the filter must be cleaned more frequently. Your infrared heater will operate best when it can breathe easily.
